Artists see the world through different eyes, special eyes. They stop and notice what to others is simply visual information to be processed and forgotten in the urgency to get somewhere else.

Colors and shapes take on a new importance in the artist's mind, clamoring to be translated into a language spoken in paint on paper.

Over the past seven years, I have found the study of the human face and body both fascinating and demanding; nothing in the world is quite as mysterious and expressive as the 'Other'. By paying close attention the nature of an individual's physical presence, I try to reveal something essential about that person's character.

At the same time, I know I am also revealing myself: I give you my version, my interpretation of the subject's true self.
