COOKING: 20 minutes
TOTAL: 40 minutes
PORTION(S): 6 servings

INGREDIENTS

PREPARATION

  1. With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C)
  2. In a large bowl, mix well with a blender the cheese, butter (or margarine), sour cream, beaten egg for the composition and the seeds for the composition, until a homogeneous composition.
  3. Continually mixing, sprinkle in the flour, until completely and homogeneously incorporated.
  4. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough on it using a rolling pin, to a thickness of about 1 inch (2-3 cm).
  5. Using a pizza slicer or a sharp knife, cut the dough into sticks about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide and inch (10 cm) long.
  6. Line a cookie tray with parchment paper and place the sticks on it. Brush the sticks with the beaten egg and sprinkle them with the seeds for decoration.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the sticks are golden brown. Let cool and serve.
NOTES:
Serve these sticks with a good ţuica (Romanian plum brandy) or as a snack. They are also excellent accompaniments to soups, salads and sauce dishes.
