Fresh Green Beans With Garlic

PREPARATION: 30 minutes (including draining)
COOKING: 30 minutes
TOTAL: 1 hour
PORTION(S): 4-6 side dishes

INGREDIENTS

PREPARATION

  1. Remove stems and wash the beans in cold water. Drain well for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a large deep skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat.
  3. Add beans, salt, pepper, garlic and lemon juice.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 30 minutes or until beans are soft.
  5. From time to time, add a little cold water to cook in a little liquid.
  6. Serve as is or with your favorite dish.
NOTES:
Towards the end of cooking, gently mash a bean, to make sure it is soft enough but crunchy to taste.
